Mary Jo Rulnick, wedding planner for Carnegie Museums of Pittsburgh, former events planner for a national corporation, and coined Do-It-Yourself expert, has turned her practical, everyday knowledge into a writing career. She is the author of The Frantic Woman’s Guide to Feeding Family and Friends and co-author of The Frantic Woman’s Guide to Life. Mary Jo has written extensively about home, family and women’s issues in national woman’s publications such as Allure, Better Homes and Gardens, Woman’s Day and is a regular TV and radio guest on stations throughout the country. With her creative solutions featured on several high traffic web sites, she’s regularly interviewed for tips and suggestions to help busy people make their life easier.
Additionally, Mary Jo is the cooking, holiday and party expert on ClubMom.com, a national online club cofounded by The Today Show’s host Meredith Vieira. Mary Jo has recently caught the attention of Food Network Television who ha requested several casting tapes. She organized the Subaru Women’s Winter Tour 2006, a one day event benefiting domestic abuse. She was a judge from 2005-2007 for Mom’s Choice Awards, an organization promoting literacy.
The personal side of this mother-of-two finds her committed to her community as an avid volunteer. Mary Jo has served on the executive board of seven nonprofit organizations, such as Girl Scouts of Western Pennsylvania, YMCA, and the Builders’ Association of Metropolitan Pittsburgh Women’s Council. In addition, she has assisted with everything from hammering nails, while building a neighborhood playground to cooking meals for disadvantaged children to fundraising for her children’s school programs. Rulnick lives in Pennsylvania with her husband of 25 years, two children and German Shepherd dog.
